Snow Globe Art Project for Kids {@ Or So She Says}

I had this post put together several days ago, and here in Utah it looked more like spring than winter then.  But yesterday, Mother Nature delivered!  It snowed ALL DAY LONG!  Huge, white, wet snowflakes falling like cotton candy from the sky.  It was glorious, at least I thought so!

Snow Globe Art Project for Kids from Blissful Roots

So, the snow globe art project I'm sharing over at Or So She Says today seems a bit more fitting than it did last week.  It's a great activity to do with your kids to bring a bit of the winter wonderland indoors.  And the snow globes always turn out as unique as each creator.  Provide a variety of embellishments to dress up the globes, and let your kids go crazy!

Stop by and visit me at OSSS (click here for the entire post) for the supply list and how to.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you found a little something worth your time.

Let it Snow Printable

Here's one of my favorite winter printables from last year.  I really do love embracing everything about winter during the month of January.  Especially the beauty of the snow.  The white blanket of snowflakes makes for amazing views, and gives nature a new, enchanting look for a few months.

I'm completely spoiled to live in such a beautiful mountain valley paradise (Midway, Utah).  This valley is gorgeous year-round, but it's extra special in the winter.

These pictures were taken during an early October snow we had last year, but they were the most recent ones I could find that showcase a bit of my amazing surroundings.  I never tire of  seeing the first snow of the season, the middle, or the last.  I can't even imagine living somewhere without the beauty, purity, and stillness of a snowy winter.

And without winter, we wouldn't be able to witness these amazing ice castles.  They're truly breath-taking.  My boys and I drive by daily just to get a glimpse of them.  They're stunning in the day, and magical at night with the lighting.  If you're planning on being in Midway any time before March (they expect the castles to make it until the first of March), you have to stop by the ice castles!  You can pay to walk through them, or you can enjoy them from the outside.  Last year they were on our town square, but this year they've moved them up to Soldier Hollow.  I believe they're to be bigger and better than ever this year.  Click here for more information about the ice castles, hours, and pricing.

So, have I convinced any of you Florida-dwellers to head a bit north?  Probably not, but I have to say I second what today's printable says, "Let it Snow!"  I also love these words from Robert Frost.

"You can't get too much winter in the winter."

January Pinterest Board

The first Monday of a new year.  I love a clean, fresh start!  Sometimes my drive and ambition fizzles off before I'd like it to, but for now I'm motivated and I'm going to go with it.  I'm motivated to improve on many areas of my life, and blogging is definitely one of them.  The little break I've taken these past few months have been very clarifying for me.  I've realized I do love blogging, I don't want to give it up entirely, but I've also realized that I can step back from a few things and all will be well.  And by taking a step back in certain areas, I hope to be able to channel some energy in new directions with my blog.  Nothing major, just a few things I've been wanting to do for quite some time and haven't.
Follow Brooke @ blissfulroots.com's board January on Pinterest.

I always like to start off the month with sharing my Pinterest board for the month.  If you follow me on Pinterest, then you know most of my boards are organized by months.  That's how my mind works- in seasons and holidays.  I've been doing this for a year now, and so you may have seen my January board last year, but don't worry.  I'm a pinned!  I've added plenty of new pins for you to check out this year.   Lots of snow, snowmen, snowflakes, and winter.  January is a beautiful month!  Enjoy!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you found a little something worth your time.
