Free Easter Egg Coloring Collage {From Doodle Art Alley}

My cooperating teacher (wonderful Mrs. Linda Lewis) gave me the cutest Easter egg collage coloring page to use in my classroom many years ago.  It was always one of my favorite activities to do with my students, and they had so much fun with it!

When I quit teaching after having my twins, I pretty much left all of my files for the teacher who took my place.  I figured she needed them much more than I did at the time.  And for the most part, I'm glad I did.  But every once in awhile I remember a really great activity, or page and kick myself for not keeping more. 

The Easter egg collage picture always haunted me.  Why didn't I keep a copy?  Well, awhile back I stumbled upon this picture.  I believe the one I used to have had more eggs, and they were smaller, but this one totally works!  In fact, I think the fewer eggs and bigger sizes makes it more doable for younger ones.  It's become a tradition to do one of these each year with my boys now.  (And be sure to print yourself a copy.  I could color hundreds of these.)  They're always amazing once completed! 

My four-year-old and I started this one, and it's not quite complete yet, but already looking fantastic!

Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who doesn't love a really good chocolate chip cookie?  And  wouldn't that really good chocolate chip cookie be even better with frosting?  That's kind of a silly question, right?  Frosting makes everything better!

This recipe comes from my mother-in-law (not my sister, for once).  She has made these cookies for years and years.  My husband and all five of his siblings remember these as their favorite childhood cookies.  Still to this day when she makes them, they can't get enough of them, and neither can any of us in-laws, or grandkids.

The trick to these cookies is NOT over baking them.  My mother-in-law always just under bakes them, so they're really soft.  She also chops up some of the extra milk chocolate chips in her Bullet, and sprinkles them on top.

I promise these will be a huge hit with your entire family!   The cookie itself is so soft, and almost cake-like, and then when you add the frosting and chopped chocolate chips, you're talking perfection!

Here's a bit of trivia for you.  Do you know who Peter Cottontail is?  I wasn't 100% sure.  Thank goodness for Wikipedia!  I had wondered if there was a connection between Peter Cottontail and Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit, but there isn't.  The name comes from The Adventures of Peter Cottontail by Thornton Burgess.  Looks like I have a bit of reading to catch up on.

Irish Blessing Printable

  Are you ready for St. Patrick's Day?  We had our little leprechaun visit again tonight.  He left Harry Potter Bertie Bott's (we're reading the books together- we're almost done with #4).  My boys thought they were the coolest thing ever!  However, the vomit flavored bean held true to it's name.  One of my twins may or may not have had a very strong reflux reaction to it.  We made it to the bathroom just in time, I'm glad to say.  They thought that part was even cooler than the unusual names and flavors of the beans.  I really never have a dull moment with my three boys around!  We'll see what our little leprechaun does or leaves tomorrow.

Lucky Me Printable

 I have to say I really prefer the word blessed over lucky, but in the spirit of all things lucky for St. Patrick's Day, I'm going with lucky today.

All my boys (little boys and husband) come to mind whenever I hear this phrase.  I am beyond lucky (blessed) to have all of them in my life!
