Valentine Playlist {Repost}

Another holiday is approaching, and for me that means another playlist.  I've gotten into the habit of having a playlist for just about every holiday.  I love music!  I love the emotions, memories, and ambiance it creates.

Valentine Playlist from Blissful Roots

I know there are thousands and thousands of love songs out there, but with three boys in the house,  I like to keep some of the songs a bit more playful than lovey.  So if you're looking for a mushy, gushy valentine playlist, I'm afraid I'll disappoint you (a bit, there are a few mushy, gushy ones I guess).  But give the list a try.  There's plenty of love here, and a lot of fun!

I've got a lot of Disney songs (my favorites are Love from Robin Hood, and So This Is Love from Cinderella), some Frank Sinatra (for my Grandma Rae), Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, a lot of oldies, I guess. Valentine by Jim Brickman and Martina McBride (I could listen to her sing forever!) probably qualifies as one of the mushy, gushy ones, but I couldn't leave that one out.  It's title is Valentine for goodness sake.  And the song Unforgettable by Nat and Natalie King Cole will always remind me of when my mom won a local radio Valentine's Day contest.  She didn't even remember entering, and was a bit taken back when they had her on the radio.  For some reason I remember the  song Unforgettable playing the a heart-shaped box of chocolates she won.

One of my VERY favorite songs is not showing up here on the Spotify widget.  It shows up when I pull up my Spotify account, so if you go to  Spotify (it's free to sign up for an account!) to listen it should show up.  The song is A Bushel And A Peck by Doris Day.

I need to get a 'Playlists' tab for my header so you can easily find all of the playlists I've posted here at Blissful Roots.  In the meantime, you can type 'playlist' in the search box in my sidebar, and you should be able to find them all there.  I've got three Christmas playlists, my current running playlist, a Thanksgiving one, and even a patriotic one.  Keep coming back for more, too.  I have some great ideas swimming around in my head for more playlists.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you found a little something worth your time.

Lullabies Playlist {On Spotify}

  I seem to have all things baby on my mind lately, which I haven't had to think about in years.  And I have to say it's been a lot of fun!  I also haven't posted a playlist for awhile, so in honor of all things baby, I have a lullabies playlist to share with you today.

Lullabies Playlist @ Blissful Roots

And actually, all three of my boys (ages seven and four) still listen to the Tender Lullabies CD (you'll see the songs in my playlist) to fall asleep at night.  It's so relaxing and peaceful!  So, along with those favorites, I'm excited to add a few new songs to add to the baby atmosphere that will be here in a couple of months for our family.

You can listen to my entire lullabies playlist on Spotify.  You just need to download it to listen, and it's free!  So, hop on over and download today.  Not only can you listen to my playlist, but you can listen to anything!  I LOVE Spotify!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you found a little something worth your time.

Instrumental Christmas Playlist {On Spotify}

I promised more Christmas playlists (click here for my Christmas classics playlist), so here I am with another one.

I love the holly, jolly festive feeling this time of year, but even more than that, I love the quiet, peaceful feel at Christmastime.

Instrumental Christmas Playlist {On Spotify} from Blissful Roots

Here's a list of some of my very favorite instrumental Christmas songs.  I love to turn all the lights out, except for the tree lights and play this mix at night.

My boys fall asleep listening to some of the songs on this playlist (we have the whole Christmas Lullabies CD found on my playlist).  Their room is so cozy on these cold December nights.  The glow from their tiny tree lights, and the soft music playing is the perfect way to end the day.

Once again, if you have a Spotify account you can listen to my entire list.  Spotify is free, so go ahead and get yourself an account if you don't already.

Stop in next week for my religious/spiritual Christmas playlist (my favorite!).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you found a little something worth your time.

Patriotic Playlist

Well, I'm back from another week off of blogging.  Our girl's camp was so, so enjoyable.  We have the best bunch of teenage girls anywhere!  I missed my boys terribly, but had an amazing experience bonding with these girls and enjoying the beauties of nature.

Patriotic Playlist from Blissful Roots

So, here we are at the beginning of the 4th of July week.  Such a fun time of year!  If you saw my guest post over at A Typical English Home, then you know I mentioned something about a patriotic playlist. I love having music to get me in the mood for holidays, don't you?  It brings an added bit of festiveness that can't be experienced any other way.

Growing up, we always watched the fireworks at Romney Stadium (Utah State University Aggies).  We hardly ever went in the stadium, but we would park close by, lay on the grass, and tune our radio, (to Q92? I can't remember which station for sure) and have a firework show with music.  Ever since then, if I ever see a firework show without music, I feel a bit cheated.  The music completes the show for me.

Over the years, I've complied some of my favorite patriotic songs.  I know every one's taste is different, and there are a TONS of songs to choose from, but maybe the ones I've listed will help you get started on your own.  I have everything from classics to some newbies, and instrumental.

I put my playlist together in Spotify.  You can only play your
Spotify list from your computer, but it's free.  You could purchase the songs on iTunes and then play them from your computer, phone, tablet or burn them to a disc.

I found how to put my list from Spotify here in my post, but the songs won't play when you click them (I know, I was disappointed too).  At least you can see the songs and artists.  And for some reason it left two of the songs off my list (apparently they need to work out a few bugs), and they're two of my favorite!
1.  Battle Hymn of the Republic by SHeDAISY
2.  America the Beautiful by Blake Shelton & Miranda Lambert

What are your favorite patriotic songs?
Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you found a little something worth your time.

P.S.  I have a Thanksgiving playlist you can find here.
